Spring Campout - April 8-10 - Parkers Creek - Jordan Lake

AGENDA : Friday, APR 8th

          3:00 pm Group Campsites available (sites 255 and 256)

          3-7 pm Arrive, setup personal gear, eat self prepared meal

          3-5 pack games..Frisbee golf kick ball ect..

          8:00 pm Park gate closes

          7:30 pm Camp fire begins (flag retiring)

          9:30 Sing along around Campfire, 1st call to bed

          10:00 Lights out

Saturday APR 9th

GATE opens 8:00am

          7-8:30 am Breakfast on your own

          9:00 am Flag Raising-Den ?(class A uniforms reqd)

          9:30 am-12:00 pm Pack Wide Activities – Capture the flag ,fishing, Fire starting, scavenger hunt

          12-1:00 pm Lunch on your own(gather in common area for Ranger presentation)

          1:00-2:00 pm - Den Time den leaders choice of activities or electives

          2:00-4:00 Family time fishing with new cane pole ect..

          4pm-4:15pm - Prepare for Bridging  Ceremony (class A uniforms reqd)

          4:15-5:00pm - Bridging Ceremony

          5:00 - flag lowering ceremony  (scouts can change back to class B afterwards)

          5:00-7:00 pm - Dinner (Pack Sponsored) and Dutch Oven Desert

        Dinner menu for bridging ceremony

          BBQ sandwiches ,hotdogs ,baked beans ,chips ,fruit cocktail

                 Desert will be in the form of den Dutch oven deserts which will be ready right after dinner.

         8:00pm gates close

             7:00-8:00 pm -, Campfire- smores

          8:00-9:00 pm – Stargazing and Celestial Recognition

          9-9:30-Scary Ghost Stories, 1st call to bed

          10:00 pm-Lights out

Sunday APR 10th

Gate opens 8:00am

          7-8:30am Breakfast on own

          8:30 flag raising ceremony-Den ?(Class A uniforms reqd)

          8:45-9:30 Non-Denominational Sunday Service

          9:30 11  -Pack gear

          11:15-Police campsite - practice leave no trace

          11:30-Lower flag –Den ?

          12:00 –campout is over leaving it in better condition than we found it.

We as a pack are working towards the leave no trace award so please try to reduce the amount of trash,Cups ,plates  ,bowls and utensils  to help with this award

November Service Projects

Saturday November 6th: Durant Clean-up.  Meet at the park from 10-12

Saturday November 13th: Crop Gleaning.  Meet at St. Raphael behind the Parish Center at 8am to noon.  Bring gloves, garden tools and water to stay hydrated!

October 9th Crop Gleaning
    Meet at St. Raphael behind the Parish center at 8am.  Wear clothes you can get messy in.  Everyone will be caravaned to a farm where we will gather remaining crops for the food bank.  This event is over at noon.  everyone will be caravaned back to the church.
October 17th Knights of Columbus Blood Drive
   For those scouts that are not camping out this weekend.  The event runs from 9-1:30.  The scout needs to wear his class A uniform and assist with passing out cookies/crackers to those who give blood.  The scout does not have to attend for the entire time.
October 21st Raleigh Rescue Mission Drive - Part of the Pack Meeting
   Please have you scout bring an item for the Raleigh Rescue Mission to the Pack Meeting.  Urgently needed items are: Body Lotion, Shampoo & Conditioner, Deodorant, Sugar, Coffee, Tea, Creamer, Margarine, Breakfast Bars, Crackers, Paper Plates, and Plastic Spoons and Forks.

Oct. 15th – Oct. 17th, 2010

Oct. 15 Friday

3:00pm Camp ground open for tent setup. Group site, near entrance to park.

3:00pm-6:30pm Set up camp, dinner (on your own).

6:30pm Flag raising ceremony.

7:00pm-8:00pm Camp fire started.

8:00pm Park gate closes.

8:00pm-10:00pm Flag retirement ceremony, ghost stories, and roast marshmallows.

10:00pm Bed time/ lights out.

* Each family attending please bring 3 pieces of firewood.

Oct. 16 Saturday

7:00am-9:00am Breakfast (on your own).

9:00am-11:00am Den time.

11:00am-12:00pm Pack games.

12:00pm-1:00pm Lunch (on your own).

1:00pm-2:00pm Free time (e.g., fishing, hiking, playing, relaxing, etc)

2:00pm-4:00pm Activities with the Boy Scouts.

4:00pm-5:00pm Free time (e.g., fishing, hiking, playing, relaxing, etc)

5:00pm-6:00pm Dinner (meal provided by Pack 314). Menu: hotdogs, hamburgers, chips, fruit, cookies.

6:00pm-7:00pm Cleanup. Prepare Dutch Ovens for Den-sponsored dessert cook-off.

7:00pm-10:00pm Campfire, skits, ghost stories, Dutch oven dessert, roast marshmallows, cleanup.

8:00pm Park gate closes.

10:00pm Bed time/ lights out.

* Each family attending please bring 3 pieces of firewood.

Oct. 17 Sunday

7:00am-8:45am Breakfast (on your own).

8:45am-9:15am Scout’s Own (non-denominational religious service).

9:15am Flag lowering ceremony.

9:15am-11:30am Pack up gear and camp area cleanup.

11:30am Final camp area cleanup and inspection.

12:00pm Campout finished. Stay for free time and enjoy the park (e.g., fishing, hiking, playing, relaxing, etc).

Pack 314 Summertime Program

The Summertime Committee has prepared a great agenda of activities for our Cub Scouts.
Summertime activities are optional for our pack, but count towards earning the Summertime Pin (requires 3 summer activities).
Scouts can earn various patches and belt loops as applicable to the activity.
All activities have also been posted to the Official Calender, which is linked on the left side navigation: Pack 314 Official Calender

Please review the PDF attached here for more details.
Pay attention to the sign-up deadlines as noted, so that your son can participate.
We will also be signing up Scouts at the May 18 Pack meeting.
